BOLULLA, A TOWN WITH AN ANCIENT SOUL
Discover the living history of this corner of the Marina Baixa, where Arab roots, agricultural traditions and community life intertwine.

ORIGINS AND INFLUENCES
Founded in the Islamic period, Bolulla was part of the valley's farmstead system. Its name probably comes from the Arabic word Buluya, referring to its fertile surroundings. After the Christian conquest by James I in 1254, the village maintained its original agricultural structure and layout.
The terraces, irrigation ditches and fountains, such as the Bolulla River, are testimony to this ancient heritage.

AGRICULTURE AS IDENTITY
Over the centuries, agriculture has shaped not only the landscape but also the way of life of its inhabitants. Loquat cultivation, using inherited techniques, continues to be a living tradition that sustains the local economy and preserves Bolulla's cultural identity.

TRADITION AND COMMUNITY
The history of Bolulla is not only told in books, but also in the customs its inhabitants repeat year after year: popular theater, the festivals of Sant Josep and the Virgen del Carmen, and communal meals.
The Bolullera community is the soul that keeps its history alive.
